Parco Termale Castiglione
“Every day we see operations and virtues of this water so wonderful and stupendous that we must truly believe that it is given from heaven for the health of men.”
(Giulio Iasolino on the waters of Castiglione, “De ‘Natural Remedies that are on the Island of Pithecusa; today called Ischia)
The Castiglione thermal springs, which feed the park, draw from a basin in the territory of the Municipality of Casamicciola Terme which occupies an area of over 4,000 square meters. The waters of these springs, which flow into the sea, are clear, limpid, with a somewhat salty flavor; they reach a temperature of 70 ° C and contain, in particular, alkaline sulphates and bicarbonates, including sodium and magnesium bicarbonate and a considerable quantity of sodium chloride.
The park uses, in particular, four hyperthermal springs with temperatures of 36-50-63-70 degrees that feed 10 pools of various shapes and sizes whose water maintains a constant temperature of 30-32-34-38 and 40 degrees C.
The exploitation of the thermal waters directly captured by the source represents a decisive advantage, as both the mineralization and the temperature keep their health properties almost unchanged.
